PANAFEST in Ghana
Panafest is a celebration of African Americans returning to Africa with music and dance promoting the further development of the continent of Africa.
JOZABAD ABI-JAJA CALDWELL informed me recently that he was a part of the Panafest event held in Ghana.
What is Panafest?
The Panafest event is a celebration of African Americans returning to Africa. Within this celebration, African music and dance promote the further development of the continent of Africa.
Furthermore, Panafest also addresses the many achievements of Africans despite of the hardships of the transatlantic slave trade and the challenges that followed. Besides calling for the total unification of all Africans on the continent, the event could also be interpreted as an event that promotes peace in the world.
Mr. Caldwell and his band, my other students I video conference within Ghana, had the privilege of performing for this event. After learning about the celebration, I explored many images regarding this event. This event appeared to be very colorful and filled with such positive energy. Some images below are from Panafest and another are of Mr. Caldwell and his band playing. In addition, I have the video of my students from Ghana performing a song about the Asbury Park School District. From this video you could see how wonderful these young adults perform at Panafest.
