Miracle 2 and Miracle 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Miracles happening everywhere.
It’s a miracle.
Back in 1980, the Soviet Union’s Winer Olympics ice hockey team was unbeatable. This team was seen as the master’s of ice. For instance, before the Olympic games, the Soviet Union played the United States in an exhibition match. The United States got crushed by this thought to be unbeatable formidable Soviet team.
The score was incredible with the Soviet victory of 10 to 3. This Soviet domination continued into the Winter Olympics as they defeated Japan, Netherlands, Poland, Finland, and Canada.
However, when they met the United States, the Soviet Union thought that they would continue their domination. That was not the case. During this game the United States not only made this game highly competitive but managed to shatter the Soviet’s confidence. As a result, the United States performed a Miracle and defeated the Soviet Union 4 to 3.
Now in the year 2021, the Summer Olympics I felt had two additional miracles. The first was the men’s basketball team. When they lost to France, the U.S. team looked stunned. It appeared that they caught off guard and underestimated France. When things were not looking well because of that loss, the United States coaches brought the team together to help their players rebuild their confidence. From there the United States went on to win every game to make it to the finals for the gold medal. Once again, they were to meet France.
Many people I spoke to said the United States would not have a chance of defeating them especially with the size of some of their athletes.
However, it was like 1980 all over again but this time for the U.S. men’s basketball team. When I watched this game, I was on the edge of my seat. The U.S. not only stayed with them but if I am not mistaken, they beat France in every quarter.
Then finally, as the final seconds were ticking down, the United States had the game under control which led them to their 87 to 82 win. I called that Miracle 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I give them credit where credit was due because the U.S. men’s basketball team showed they could overcome adversity and take the gold.
Lastly, another miracle I witnessed during the past summer games was Molly Seidel.
Throughout my life, I never saw anyone from the United States place in an Olympic Marathon.
This 27-year-old woman from Wisconsin did the impossible and gave the United States a long-awaited medal in the marathon. Even though she won the Bronze Medal, that was a gigantic accomplishment of running 26 miles in the unbearable heat. I would not even had lasted one mile. But that was an incredible accomplishment. So, on an end note, I would conclude that to be Miracle 3.
